Effect of Gymnastic Skills on Motor Capabilities of 7-10 Age Group Girls with Visually Impaired

The sense of sight is one of the most important and most original senses in human. In addition it had fundamental role to communicating with the outside environment, learning and motor skills. The aim of this study was the effect of gymnastic skills on motor capabilities of 7-10 age group girls with visually impaired. In this research 20 girls with visually impaired were selected. They were randomly divided into control and experimental groups. Motoric_module test (MOMO) was used to measure the selective motor capabilities in the pre test. Gymnastic skills were performed by experimental group for twelve weeks; two sessions per week. At the end of the period, both groups participated in the post test with motoric_module test. The data were analyzed with T- test. Results showed that at pre-test no significant difference was seen for the means of selective motor capabilities between experimental and control group. But after twelve weeks gymnastics skills significant difference was observed between pre and post test in experimental group at all selective motor capabilities. In addition significant difference was not observed in control group. This study showed that gymnastics skills are led to improvement selective motor capabilities of 7-10 age group girls with visually impaired.
