The comparison of selective-attention in two groups of married couples with high and low marriage stability

Hanieh Katozian and Fariborz Bagheri

The main purpose of the study is to compare the selective attention in two groups of married couples with high and low marriage stability. In this process, 80 couples were selected by the use of available sampling method based on John et al. (1980) for responding to the marriage stability questionnaire categorizing into two forty people groups with high and low marriage stability. In order to measure the degree of selective-attention, the same test was applied; in addition to the related questionnaire, test-takers were used to respond to that questionnaire based on their social-economical class. For data analysis, multivariate and spearman correlation were used. The results of the research show that selective-attention on the marriage stability is not significant at 95% confidence level. The changes range from women and false men had a significant, negative correlation along with male income. There is, of course, positive correlation between the absolute efficiency of man, women and the absolute attention score of man and woman income but the income of woman along with man and woman changes has a negative correlation.
